Dr. Black is a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon at SEHA, appointed in 2014. Before joining the UAE, he led the Thoracic Service at Oxford University Hospitals (2009–2014) and was a Consultant at Nottingham University Hospitals (2006–2009). He earned his CCST in Cardiothoracic Surgery after training in Leicester, Nottingham, and Sheffield, with fellowships in Upper GI and advanced VATS lung cancer surgery under Dr. Walker in Edinburgh. A graduate of Guy’s Medical School, London (1992), Dr. Black has held senior roles with the SCTS and European and British Thoracic societies. He is currently the Vice President of the Emirates Thoracic Society.
