Dr. Usman Ahmad, MD, is the Department Chair of Thoracic Surgery at the Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Previously, he served as Staff Surgeon and Director of Thoracic Robotic Surgery at Cleveland Clinic, USA, and Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. He earned his medical degree from Aga Khan University, completed research fellowships at Yale School of Medicine, and trained in cardiothoracic surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and New York Presbyterian–Weill Cornell. His expertise spans thoracic oncology, lung transplantation, and robotic surgery, with active roles in major thoracic surgical societies.
