Dr. Dorai Ramanathan is a UK-trained Consultant Medical Oncologist with nearly 20 years of experience in cancer care. He has an extensive background in managing a wide range of adult solid tumors and is recognized as one of the leading oncologists in the UAE.
Before joining Al Zahra Hospital, Dr. Dorai worked for 18 years within the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), gaining valuable oncology experience at several prestigious institutions including University Hospitals Leicester, Derby and Northampton, Addenbrooke’s Hospital(Cambridge) and Velindre Cancer Centre (Cardiff). At Al Zahra Hospital, Dr. Dorai serves as the Head of the Oncology Department and Director of the Breast Cancer JCI Accreditation Program (CCPC).
He also chairs the Breast Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) and the Oncology Tumor Board, working closely with a team of specialists to ensure each patient receives comprehensive, individualized, and holistic cancer care.
