Dr. Ghassan K. Abou-Alfa joined the Gastrointestinal Oncology Service at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Weill Cornell Medical College in 2001. He specializes in gastrointestinal cancers, with a focus on hepatocellular carcinoma, cholangiocarcinoma, and gallbladder cancer. A graduate of the American University of Beirut, he completed post-doctoral training at Yale School of Medicine. His research centers on developing novel therapies and improving current treatments, while advancing the understanding of disease mechanisms. Widely published and an international lecturer, Dr. Abou-Alfa is also a strong advocate for raising awareness, improving patient outcomes, and enhancing global oncologic education.
