Dr. Thorsten Füreder is an internal medicine and hemato-oncology specialist at the Medical University of Vienna. After medical school, he began his research at the Department of Clinical Pharmacology, focusing on drug development and biomarkers in solid tumors. In 2010, he transitioned to the Department of Internal Medicine I, where his focus shifted to clinical research. Dr. Füreder completed his internal medicine training in 2013 and a hemato-oncology fellowship in 2015. He now directs programs for head and neck cancer and cancer of unknown primaries, co-chairs the immuno-oncology research platform, and oversees clinical drug development in head and neck cancer. He was appointed associate professor in 2023.
