Dr. Azim is a Professor of Clinical Oncology and past chairman of the Clinical Oncology Department at Cairo University. He is the president of Cairo Oncology Center. He chairs the scientific committee of the NCCN Middle East chapter and is a member of ASCO, ASH, ESMO, ASTRO, and the European Blood and Marrow Transplantation Society. Dr. Azim has been a principal investigator in many clinical trials and has published over 80 papers. He was the chief editor of two educational books and serves as a referee for several oncology journals, including Annals of Oncology and BMC Cancer.
