Salah-Eddin Al-Batran, MD, is Director of the Institute of Clinical Cancer Research and GI Oncology at Krankenhaus Nordwest-University Cancer Center, Frankfurt. A hematologist and oncologist, he specializes in esophageal and stomach cancers, with a focus on health-related quality of life. Dr. Al-Batran founded the FLOT Gastric Cancer Network and leads clinical trials for solid malignancies. He also oversees a translational research program on esophagogastric cancer. He is a member of AIO, ASCO, and EORTC, and teaches internal medicine at Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University in Frankfurt.
